Energy Audits are important in determining areas of inefficiency within a building or tenancy. ECONIC can assess occupied buildings using tariff analysis to determine areas of highest energy consumption and identify cost effective energy saving opportunities in line with clients’ applicable cost benefit payback or internal rate of return. All energy audits performed by ECONIC are in accordance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3598:2014.
There are three types of Energy Audit Assessment each with increasing levels of detail and accuracy required. For most buildings a level 2 Audit will be sufficient, and a level 1 Audit may be sufficient for some tenancies. A level 1 audit is a basic desktop assessment whereas a level 2 audit is more detailed where a site visit is undertaken and onsite personnel are interviewed. |
Where complicated building systems, abnormal hours of activity, or lack of detailed utility or sub-metering information for a building, group of buildings on a particular site, or for large items of plant, a level 3 audit is generally conducted. This includes all the scope items for a level 2 assessment in greater detail and higher levels of accuracy. Installing additional sub metering to highest energy consuming equipment is generally required for a level 3 audit.
